The Edison 3.0 system is our Laboratory Decentralization Technology.

What does this mean exactly?

A Decentralized model is when you get the exact same test and laboratory professional oversight as you would in today’s Centralized lab setting with the convenience of the lab being a home, office, hospital or outpatient clinic to name a few.

How does this work?

  1. Our Test Protocols are housed in the Theranos Virtual Analyzer (TVA).
  2. When a customer loads on of your cartridges for a panel of tests, the barcode on the cartridge is read and the TVA tells the Processing unit (The Edison) what protocols to run, based on the tests ordered.
  3. When the Tests are performed, The Edison sends the Raw Data to the TVA.
  4. A Lab Tech analyzes the data and reviews the lab results before releasing them to your physician and/or directly to the customer.
